Imagine that you, equipped with all the historical knowledge you have now, are transported back in time to 1889, to Braunau am Inn, Austria. You find yourself in a strange room. You peer over to the corner of the room. There’s a cot. In the cot is an infant. You know that face—those eyes. That tiny mustache. You realize immediately that you are face-to-face with the infantile version of Adolf Hitler, then only a few months old. Suddenly it hits you—you’ve been given the chance to change the course of history; to potentially prevent World War II; to reverse the deaths of 85 million people. Do you take that chance? Do you slaughter the harmless, 6-month-old child, gazing up at you with wide-eyed innocence?
For those who aren’t familiar, the Baby Hitler Hypo is a popular moral dilemma, essentially asking whether the responder would be able to, by slaughtering baby Hitler, put aside his/her humanity—for the sake of humanity.
The more principled (or less imaginative) among us usually respond with the ‘right’ answer: it’s your duty to kill Baby Hitler.
Which is why, at last week’s transition meeting, Joe Biden abdicated his duty as President of the United States and Leader of the Free World. After years and years (and years) of warning the public of the existential dangers posed by a second Trump presidency, Joe Biden found himself in the same room with president-elect Donald Trump. After an entire election cycle of imploring the masses to believe a vote for Trump would mean a vote for Nazism, Biden found himself in the Baby Hitler Hypo. Except—rather than an adorable, Austrian infant—Biden found himself face-to-face with his 78-year-old, orange-faced political enemy—one would assume a much less sympathy-inducing victim.
So why didn’t Old Joe (or more likely, Jill) grab the Presidential Letter-Opener and finish the job they’ve been imploring Thomas Matthew Crooks and others to complete for the best part of a decade? Because all of that Trump-Hitler fearmongering nonsense was just that—nonsense. They never believed a word of it.
Let’s All Take a Leaf Out of Melania’s Book
Another remarkable aspect of last week’s transition meeting was Melania Trump’s glaring absence. Though it is tradition for the incoming and outgoing presidential spouses to meet and rub shoulders at such meetings, Melania had declined the Bidens’ invitation. Having strongly condemned the political left after the assassination attempt earlier this year, many interpreted her absence as a signal to Joe and Jill—a signal that Melania was not going to ‘forgive and forget’ where the Biden family is concerned. After all, it was the Biden administration that authorized the FBI’s raid of the Trump family home (including Melania’s underwear drawer) in connection with the classified documents investigation. It was their hateful rhetoric and damaging lies that had nearly gotten her husband murdered.
At the meeting, Joe Biden stressed the importance of a ‘smooth transition’ between his and Trump’s presidencies. Trump, for his part, seems to have basically forgiven Joe and Jill, responding with a comment about how “nasty [a] game” politics can be—the implicit statement being that politicians say things they don’t really believe all the time—it’s all part of the job. Since Trump’s victory, this has been a popular approach to explaining away the hatred, vitriol, and gaslighting that, thanks to deranged leftist politicians and the mainstream media, have surrounded Trump for the last decade. Suddenly, the post-election attitude of the Bidens and their peers is that, yes, perhaps they’d gone too far in demonizing Trump and his supporters, but politics is just an ugly game, and they’re ready to play the game nice now.
But there’s one huge problem. It hasn’t been a “game” for some time. It wasn’t a game when Steve Bannon was sent to prison for “Obstruction of Congress”; it wasn’t a game when corrupt judges and justice department attorneys wasted taxpayer money on a series of lawfare cases to assail the electability of President Trump; it wasn’t a game when the House impeached Trump (twice) without a single Republican vote; it wasn’t a game when Biden weaponized our intelligence agencies to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 2020 election.
And it certainly wasn’t a game when Thomas Matthew Crooks took aim from the infamous sloped roof in Butler, PA.
Melania is in the right here.
Let the Rebranding Begin (?)
Following Trump’s comprehensive victory, we’re already seeing substantive evidence of a sea change in several quarters. CNN whose journalistic integrity was inadvertently lambasted on an episode of The Colbert Show earlier this year, have been firing people left and right. MSNBC was recently sold. Joe Scarborough (AKA Joe “This is the Best Biden Ever” Scarborough), one of Trump’s most vocal critics, met with the President-elect this week, to try and smooth their relationship and put all that ‘Danger to Democracy’ stuff to bed. And, in a similar vein, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (‘AOC’) removed her pronouns (she/her, in case anyone was wondering) from her X bio.
The CNN terminations, sale of MSNBC, and de-woke-ification of AOC’s bio all constitute what they would refer to in the advertising industry as an attempted ‘re-branding’. Sometimes, after periods of societal change, a company’s brand or projected image no longer resonates with enough consumers to make the company profitable. For example, some of you may remember the drastic branding changes enacted by Victora’s Secret, circa 2018. Conscious of the threat posed to the brand’s profitability by wokeism and the ‘body positive movement,’ Victoria’s Secret started using plus-sized and/or transgender models in nearly every ad. Similarly, Old Spice, prior to their 2010 re-branding, was thought of as ‘your granddad’s deodorant’, rather than the masculine, semi-sophisticated scent it has become.
Such is the case with AOC, CNN, and the rest: it’s just a rebranding. The tribalist fearmongering about Trump, the illogical COVID lockdown policies and radical woke platitudes, the constant race-baiting for political gain—yes, they’ve been effective tactics for nearly a decade, but it’s time to put them out to pasture. They’re just not manipulating the public the way they used to…
For CNN, perhaps they’ll try to reclaim their self-appointed title of ‘The Most Trusted Name in News’. For AOC, maybe her party view her as the new fresh-faced candidate they need to bring the Democrats back into relevance, in this coming age of anti-woke, pro-American patriotism.
But wait a second. If we had really just elected Hitler 2.0, would any remotely responsible politician be prioritizing the ‘smoothness’ of the transition into the Nazi regime? Would our ever-so-honest and pro-democratic news outlets really be vying to get on New-Hitler’s good side? Wouldn’t these stalwart defenders of democracy be doubling down on their predictions, rather than walking them back? Yep. Just like the Bidens’ abrupt rhetorical reversal at the transition meeting, these immediate 180-degree walk-backs are dispositive evidence. The media never truly believed their anti-conservative scare tactics in the first place, just as AOC never believed her pronouns were necessary to confirm her assumed gender—just as they don’t believe whatever they’re saying now.
So, at some point in the near future, when Ms. Ocasio-Cortez co-sponsors some kind of pro-law enforcement, ‘tough-on-crime’ bill, cosplaying the mean, street-smart people’s candidate—do not be surprised. But don’t believe it, either. It’s all part of the re-branding.
In fact, in any and all such cases, the response of the public should be the same as Melania’s: Sorry, we don’t like or trust you anymore. You’ve already said way too much crazy sh**.
Going Forward
The careers/brands/credibility of any politician, institution, or organization that knowingly perpetuated these false accusations, should be over. We can no longer trust them—they’ve proven they’re willing to say and do anything to retain power.
Think of it as the end of a bloodline. Maybe similar to the extinction of the NeoCon after the invasion of Iraq. While NeoCons still exist, they’re not really electable anymore. Why? Because, after 9/11 fever died down, their warmongering policies no longer resonated with any sizeable portion of the American public. The NeoCon became irrelevant.
Such will be the fate of hyper-woke leftist. Left, Right, doesn’t matter. We’re all sick of them now.
The Baby Hitler Hypo- perfect. I’m going to ask all the Kamalanists in my family who’ve been calling Trump “worse than Hitler” for 8 years why Biden didn’t finish the job. I can’t wait to hear their answer.
The Democrats are the Nazis of the new world. Laws enacted by Michigan's legislature show that. George Soros is still trying to control the American Public and they stood against him and those he owns in Congress. If the Democratic run states don't get the message soon, they will find mid-year elections seeing more of them put out to pasture. Michigan alone is leaking people by the thousands. No one can afford to live there. It's a big reason I left. Not to mention I hate winter. Democrats thought they could make race an issue and divide this country. Didn't happen. Hispanics who have been here legally for years turned out in Democratic strongholds for Trump. Unions like UAW, AFLCIO, Steelworkers, did not back a candidate this year. They did not try to tell Union workers how to vote. It's the first time the Unions have done this. Says something doesn't it? I'm equally as sure the MEA put out that all teachers should vote for Harris. See where that got them?
